Classroom Blog

I am so excited about this new blog that I created for our class. This new blog, is for the students to update! It is their own blog!!  I have created a username and password for every student. This blog is for them to update about things that they are learning in the classroom as well as things that they want to share with the class. This can be something they did over the weekends, or even over the break! I think this is going to be a GREAT way for me to see what they are enjoying and give them some time to explore their friends blogs as well. This is not required for them to do, but why not try it? I can't wait to see how this turns out!

The link to the blog is http://kidblog.org/MissLovettsClass/ I will give each student their login  code, and the password for everyone is frisco. If you would like your child's Login code, just email me, and I will send it to you.
I hope everyone has a nice, restful holiday!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Miss Lovett

We have been learning about government in social studies this week. Today we went over the constitution. We decided that we should come up with one for our own classroom. Here is a picture of us taking turns signing out names to our classroom constitution.

Quack! Quack!

This week we are learning about sound. The students got to make ducks made out of styrofoam cups, string, and sponges. We learned that the sound changes depends on the amount of pressure and water being used on the sponge. If the sponge was too wet, it wouldn't work as well. Here is a picture of our finished products.

Calling all Dads!

On Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. we will be having our 2nd annual WATCH D.O.G.S. kickoff meeting.

WATCH D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life.  Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model and to help promote a safe and positive school environment.
Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers. . . . this is your chance to have a night out alone with your Robertson student in a fun atmosphere at school!

Study Those Facts!

Here are some fun websites for your child to practice math facts.

College/Career week is coming up!

Robertson is having a College/Career Week!  All FISD schools will be celebrating during the week of September 12-16.  The purpose is to teach our students that preparing for a higher education begins now by setting goals and forming good academic habits.  Ms. O’Hearn will be discussing College and Careers in Guidance this month.  Our focus will be setting goals and working to achieve them.

There will be fun activities throughout the week that emphasize doing your best in school, the importance of graduating from high school, and taking that next step to college.  We encourage all to participate!

MONDAY Listen to College Spirit Songs as we start our day.  Each morning we will play a school song from a different College Band.  Discuss with your Teacher where they went to College and ask them about their Teacher College Fact Sheet!

TUESDAYGo future Lone Star Rangers! (wear navy or silver to support your future high school)

WEDNESDAY – Team up for college! Wear your favorite College Tee-Shirt or colors.

THURSDAY Look to your bright future! (wear sunglasses)
